Well I got to have some fun with the LA last night. A frind of mine that farms alfalfa and custom bales the hay on my Dads farm wanted to know if I would like to bale with my Case as it would save him bringing one less tractor over to Dad's for baling. I said sure thing! It was a lot of fun. here in eastern WA alfalfa is grown mostly for export overseas and lots is baled into 135lb 3 tie bales. We bale at night with the dew on the hay,so last nite the dew came in about 3am. We fired up the 3 balers and had 45 acres baled in about 2 1/2hrs. The old LA worked great for the job and I thought you might enjoy seeing a few pics! The ones in the daylight are actually the day before we had the hay all ready to bale and then it started sprinkling which is bout like a dew so we fired em up but then it kinda rained pretty steady and got the hay to wet bummer cause that bleaches out the green colour. Oh well such is farming! The LA had fun and theres nothing quite like being out on an open cab tractor in the middle of a cool eastern wa desert nite listening to the curchug of them old freeman balers with there duitz aircooled diesels or wisconsin v4 gas engines! And smelling fresh alfalfa hay!
