i have heard people say "turn up the injection pump" a dozen times but I don't relly know what it means. My 530 ag tractor has a 188 diesel in it. runs great but smokes blue lingering diesel smoke most of the time. it seems to be sooo much more powerfull than my 530 backhoe that I wonder if somebody has "turned up the injection pump" is there a way to check this or turn something down. I would like to cut down on the smoking a bit.

gus,

Blue smoke is usually caused by oil comsumption
or low operating temperature or possibly by
poorly spraying injectors. If it is smoking at
a no load ,it is not the injector pump.
