1030/1070 questions

Hi everyone, I have two questions on two different tractors.First,I am overhauling a 1030 and am down to the heads. The way I understand the manual, I should drive the powercell out with a punch and a ballbearing. That is fine but what about the little pin that comes from the bottom, just shear it off? Next we found a 1070 in (i would say) very good condition.
We do our own tractor work, so we figured on maybe a couple thousand extra bucks to get her up to snuff.I have got it up to operating temps.
and all the gauges look good. The reason I am concerned is the engine RPM jump of about 150 RPM's when you press the clutch. Is this normal?
or do I need to do some wrenching?

(quoted from post at 02:23:50 03/09/11) If the 1070 is a powershift, the RPM fluctuation is normal.

Sorry about that, yes it is a powershift. I guess im use to the 30 series (no options) .
So just to be sure, when I am moving foreward and press the clutch, the RPM's fall and the tractor stops quite suddenly (no coasting)?

In answer to your question about the combustion cells in the 1030, there is an alignment slot cut in them and they will drive out without shearing the pin.
