I just bought a 1070 and the pto isnt working does not seem to be connected loose feeling the owner said it was working last year thanks

Check the cable from the Console to the PTO control valve on the same side of trany. Chanches are that the cable is broken at the trunion on the engagement lever or it has slipped out of one of the brackets which hold the cable assy. in place. If the cable is fully operating the control spool, the PTO brake shaft in the rear housing could be broken off. You can Tee in a gauge in the small PTO pressure line to check this. If no pressure when valve is acuated, chanches are that the brake assy. has broken off its shaft, allowing oil to bypass clutch pack. If this brake assy. gets under bull gear, it can wedge and break a hole in the bottom of the trans. housing, requiring a costly welding repair.

thank you very much you seem very knowledgable about case I will look that cable over in the next few days . It is going to be -8c monday here in nb canada thanks again will let you know

the cable is working, I had the guy over who owned it before he said the pto was working perfect in potatoe harvest I believe him that waas in october. It gets cold here in New Brunswick he was wondering if a piece of ice had formed and stopped the oil pressure. the shaft turns but you can hold it with very little hand pressure he stored it inside and I have it outside right now Thank you

This may not help at all,but have found in cold(10F and colder)it sometimes helps to work the hyd's to warm the oil a little before the PTO will fully engage.Dead head your remotes or run your PS up and down a few times.Mine is a gear drive so have to use the remotes.Hope this helps some.
