Is A&I the best place to buy aftermarket parts for 90 series Case tractors? I am going to put brakes and PTO clutches in my 2590.
 
I have had bad luck with A&I aftermarket parts....they either don't fit properly (1070 brake actuating disks) or they don't work properly (830 light switch)......90% of the parts from i have bought from A&I have failed and I end up buying the OEM ones from case... save your money buy OEM.....my two cents
 
My advice is bite the bullet and go to your dealer. My experience has been bad with thier pto disc,s and havent even tried a wet brake pad. What i have seen is the glue seems to turn loose that holds the linning on. My 2 cents Thad
 
We sell aftermarket parts. Some stuff is good & some is junk. Very little quality control. A&I started out making all their own parts, now most of it is imported. Unfortunately buying OEM isn't always an option. John Deere owns a good share of A&I. Anybody that thinks OEM companies make all their own parts are kidding themselves. They haven't for the last 25 years. I do believe the OEM companies do have a little more control over the quality of what they sell. Companies like A&I, Herschel, Steiner etc. get this stuff made in China & other countries. We get parts where the holes are drilled wrong or part is machined wrong. The step where these should be checked for fit is eliminated. We all want cheap parts. A lot of this is our own doing!
 
Thanks guys. I want the 2590 kept up in good shape so I will buy from the Case/IH dealer. She is still one of the best big horses ever built.
 
I have used A&I pto plates for 70 & 90, 94, 96, series tractors, they seem to be allright. I soak all plates in Hy-tran before installing, but most important you need to run Hy-tran oil. Case plates can fall apart too from cheap hyd oil(auto part store, walmart oil.)
