Cases Working at Local Show (pics)

I always enjoy seeing other people's tractors in action, so I thought I'd pass along these photos taken this year at our local show (Mini Sappa Antique Thresher and Engine Show). There's Dad sawing with his '48 LA still in its work clothes and with a Char-Lynn pump, my '52 DC on a Case threshing machine, Dad's '51 SC grinding corn with a Letz burr mill, and a club member's '48 D thrown in for good measure.

Does anyone remember those tires on the front of the DC? They're ridge-runners. You run them with the tread flat on the ground most of the time, but flip them around to ride a rowcrop ridge.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Very Nice pics - thanks for sharing them.

I attended a long running show in SW Ohio this year for the first time in many decades. Sadly, there was only one Case tractor at the entire show so I was quite disappointed.

As a kid, I always used to think the Case SC and Case DC were so ugly, but they just sorta have a way of growing on you now that I am middle aged. Have an old 48 DC that I hope to use a little this coming year.

Nice pics. Unfortuneately our local show doesn"t have a big Case showing and only a couple of those will actually work. In the photo is me pulling a Little Genius 2-14 with my '49 SC. I tried to pull that CC out with the Oliver, but it required a Cat pulling from the rear. And don't worry, I went easy on its front end. Kudos to the young man giving it a workout. He is the fouth generation of his family on that tractor.

They look good! It looks like a good show in the background, too. Unfortunately there's no place to plow on our show's grounds, but my family intends to get together this spring to plow terraces. My brother found a 3x16 BER for the DC in the picture, so that should be fun.

For some reason, I thought the LP D in the one picture looked familiar as did the background; I'm originally from Oberlin myself.
