Where to purchase Flambeau Red

I have a 1948 SC case to paint. I checked with Farm & Fleet and also with TSC. They have about everything except the Case paint. Its a working tractor so not looking for the expensive automotive urethane paint, just something like the Valspar enamel...Thank You...Ben

Case/IH dealer?? Mine has it in spray qts and gallons. I see it all over, you sure you're looking correctly? Think My local TSC had it in Indiana. Think even the Ingersol dealers should have it. Used on older Case Garden tractors. We also have Big R stores here that have it. Best keep looking.

I know our TSC and Farm N Fleet stores iun Wisconsin quit carrying it, I switched to Van Sickle, I think John Saeli sells it.

I have been using The Van Sickle. How does it hold up as to fade resistance. I have some on a tractor that the paint is 5 years old and stays out of the sun most of the time and it has held up fairly well but some thing painted less than a year tends to look noticeably brighter.

I have heard that CASE still sells it but all I can turn up is "Power Red" which is lighter than flambeau. BarryfromIA, everything I use a new brand of paint I paint a piece of sheet metal with it and throw it outside for a couple years. I think after year 3 it's still got some gloss to it, will look after the sun comes up.

The tractor on the left is painted with Power Red from a Case/IH dealership. The tractor on the right was painted with PPG acrylic enamel. You can see that the Power Red is not as red as the PPG flambeau red.I really like the Case/IH Power Red and have thought about mixing a little IH Red(#2150 I think)to see if I can make it redder.I believe the Case/IH paint is made by Valspar. The Case/IH Power Red seems to be the best paint in the non automotive type paints.Nick

The tractor on the left was painted in '99 with Van Sycle paint and has spent a lot of time in the sun.The hood and fenders have been waxed which has helped the paint shine. The tractor in the rear is the one in the picture above and was painted with Power Red from the Case/IH dealership. The Van Sycle paint is available at Orscheln Farm Stores. Here is their web address

The Power Red is about twice as expensive as the Vansycle but goes on better and the spray cans work longer after some has been used out of the can.
I really dont see that much difference in the color of any of these paints. The lighting has a lot to do with how the color looks.I wish Case/IH would handle flambeau red along with power red.

I am in the process of painting my 49 SC with Hershel-Adams(enamel)flambeau Red that I purchased from John Saeli who is a regular on this forom. So far I am pleased with the paint. Here are some Pic's of the tractor to this point.

As color-blind as I am, I can still tell that Power Red is darker than Flambeau. Herschel Paint is made by Van Sickle.
