Bought a 1030 knowing there was a transmission problem. I cracked the top last night and nut backed off the pinion shaft and the the speedometer deal galled the threads pretty bad, as far as I can tell. I think I can get a complete rear end for $1500 but this tractor is very straight and I would rather fix it than start over.
I looked in the IT manual and it says the bevel gear and pinion shaft are a matched set, but I see here on the website where the bevel gear is separate.
I dont imagine there is an easy fix here. Does anyone have any advice? Thanks
