Could this have been a J. I. Case experimental model? Photos aren't very good but the conversion looks pretty professional. Case experimental predecessor of the self propelled combine??

I don't see a header. Pretty good size engine. I think it's the result of someone having too much time on his hands.

John, thinking maybe an interium step before cutting with the machine itself. I Was thinking pull up to the shocks and thresh then on to the next to avoid handling the grain shocks twice as in load, haul to thresher, unload and toss into thresher.

Would really be interesting to have a technology time line between mechanical thresher and self propelled combine.
