Hallo from Holland,
My 1936 Case L has some noise in the transmission, in al gears.
I think the bearings on the clutchshaft are the problem, especially the ballbearing at the pinion side. The smaller one in the flyweel is some years ago already replaced.
Are these bearings stil available, and are they metric? Who has numbers and idea"s?

and click on right here. Once you get to put in model type in L-Series and it takes you into the parts manual. I don't think you will find they are metric put can be probably be gotten from a bearing supplier. Hope this helps.

Does this mean that if I find a part on the list for the Model L that has a little square at the left side, that, in theory, I could go to my local CaseIH dealer and he could order the part in for me?

Seems to good to believe.

Wel let me ask my question in a other way:
Has somebody experience with replacing clutchshaft bearings and are there replacement numbers for regular todays bearings? So maybe I can find them by a nearby store?
By the way, the tip I got to the case ih site is very interesting.

Bart, if this tractor was an export model made in the US it will not have metric bearings. On the other hand any bearing in it will have the bearing manufactuers name and part number of the bearing etched or stamped on the sides of the races somewhere. If you take the bearings off the shafts try do get them off complete, do not torch them off as this would destroy any reference numbers you will find necessary to obtain replacement.

While replacement bearings may have to be special ordered for you I would bet any mid size to large bearing and seal supply company in the Netherlands could use the part numbers to cross over and get them for you in their brand. Take the old bearing in and get the parts counter guys to help you. I would bet bearings are still available, but probably not from Case.

If you can find a part number on the old bearing, I'll bet Motion Industries can find you a new one, see link below. I don't know if they ship overseas. I think the bearing and race each have their own part number.
