Case Haybine

Picked up a 655 self propelled haybine this past weekend. Seems like a good machine except the blade is dull. Also picked up a plow earlier in the summer. Hope the pictures get in.

Lets try this for the pictures

We sold around 2 dozen 650 and 655 SP Haybines and a few less 950 and 955s The 655 was a good little machine. Very popular because you could drop the conditioned hay back into a swath rather than a windrow. You have to learn how to control them on steep slopes. The trim steer was great for following minor curves, but sharper turns required a bit of expertise with the levers when mowing on steep slopes. If you plan on mowing with it adjust the flotation springs so that you can lift each corner of the header easily with one hand. If you don't you will bend guards, break knives and wear out skid shoes, as well as affecting traction and handling. Also make sure that the stops for the tensioned conditioner roll is set so the two have a slight clearance and do not run in direct contact with each other. If there is no clearance you will destroy the rolls.
