Skid steer is heading straight forward then lets go right>>>> pulling back on my right control lever & suddenly hear this loud: run-away clicking coming from one of the axle areas. Both drive chains on the RHSide were extremely loose but I honestly think it"s something more like a stripped out axle spline. Any thoughts please? Also, without paying out $500 where would I get a replacement Drive Axle Hub assembly?

I have an 1845 that did something similar. Did a bunch of mental acrobatics and it turned out to be a master link coming apart. I hope you are as lucky.

Before work this morning I removed the front axle and hub assembly to see the splines are great on both the sprocket and axle. Tonight I removed the back axle assembly and they also look fine. Master link coming apart? 3 chains in there, I guess I can only rotate them around to inspect the linkages to be sure, I better get some rubber gloves. Lastly could it be the Cluster sprockets? I think they are all keyed & rotate together, it seems that if one of the little sprockets down there will rotate independantly then that's my problem solved because they should only move when the hydraulic pump rotates. Thanks for writing- Adam

Massey Ferguson 35 (and up) Tractor Assembly Notes - by Jack Wetmore. These assembly notes are for Massey Ferguson tractors with a two stage clutch and 6 speed, 8 speed and mutli-power transmissions. I see a lot of discussion forum messages regarding damaged clutches from improper assembly. The objective is to have the engine and transmission slide together safely and easily until the gap between the two halves is less than 1/4", BEFORE tightening any of the bolts holding the two together. Using bolts to draw the two halves together will damage the PTO
