430 Series Hydraulic Problem

Following the replacement of the transmission shaft (split the tractor), The three point hydraulics do not work (no fluid flow). The hydraulic fluid level is completely full. My 1964 440CK does not have the engagement mechanism as seen the the picture provided by Joe (Wa). From what I have read, this was on the earlier models.
Ran the tractor again today and could not get the three point hydraulics to work. It"s just not picking up the fluid from the torque tube as it should. Even the new filter is still bone dry after 30 minutes of running.
Any "tricks of the trade" would be appreciated!
I believe the hydraulic pump is turning, just not pumping/pressurizing.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but if the hydraulic pump has been running dry for 30 minutes, the pump will be ruined. You are going to have to disassemble.

Since Brad was the bearer of bad tidings, I will elaborate. You are going to have to remove the fuel tank and other linkages, etc. so you can pull the valve bodies and torque tube cover housing as an assembly. Once you have done this, check the gasket on the pickup tube bolted to the pump. Look closely to see if the pump drive gear is ingaging it's counter part. Next make sure the key is not cut off on the drive gear. If all is good, pull the pump apart looking for gouging or other problems.there is also a cartrige relief on the pump, but you should have seen flow with poor psi. The pump drive gear is driven by a hollow shaft that engages the pressure plate of the clutch. If the tractor did not roll tightly together at the bell housing, and you drew it together with the bolts, you may have screwed up the pressure plate so that the shaft is not turning. Perhaps the others who posted earlier will chime in again. Good luck.

If the hydraulics worked well before you split the tractor at the bell housing, your problem is there. As mentioned above, if the hollow shaft that splines into the clutch plate that drives the hydraulic pump has bent the clutch plate during forced assembly, the hydraulic pump will NOT turn. You'll need to split it again at the bell housing to correct the problem.

You all are the greatest!!
My initial "split" was at the torque tube/transmission split line to get to the shuttle and trammission shaft. Never split the tractor at the bell housing split line. Is there any hyd pressure tap that come direclty off of the pump to check for pressure before removing the control valves (I have two) or spliting the tractor at the bell housing?
If the pump is not working properly, what kind of costs am I looking at for parts?
Thanks!

I put my response in the wrong forum location. First, THANKS!
Second, the intial work I did (split) was at the torque tube/transmission split line not the bell housing.
According to the book I have, this model does not appear to have a pickup tube. This dry clutch version (later model) shows the pump as an integral part of the drive gear from the engine.
I sounds like my first course of action it to pull the valve body assemble and inspect the pump itself?
What kind of costs am I looking at for hyd pump parts (rebuild kit??)

The drive gear for the hydraulic pump and the pump itself are under the top torque cover. In fact, the hydraulic pump is actually attached to that cover. Had a case once where a small ball bearing was sucked up in the hydraulic pick up tube and broke the hydraulic pump. By pulling the torque tube top cover, you'll discover the problem. Just another point. With the tractor running, move one of the remote control levers. It the motor doesn't slow slightly, there is no hydraulic pressure.

According to all the documentation I can find, my tractor (Hyd pump) does not have a pickup tube. According to my CASE Shop Manuel and the Case Parts Catalog (breakdown) for a 430 Series Case Ag & Utility Tractor (s/n prior to 8262800), a pick up tube was on the earlier dry clutch models. My Hyd pump is actually splined onto the main shaft that runs from the clutch through the torque tube.
When you refer to the torque tube top cover, are you refering to the Hyd control valve assembly that sets directly under the fuel tank? My plan is to pull Hyd control valve assembly off of the top of the torque tube to see if I find the problem.
Really appreciate your help and recommendations!
Note: My tractor is a 440 CK s/n 8244359 - 1964 Model
