OK, Case experts, let"s hear the real story on this thing. That "penal" hitch sounds painful!

Nice tractor Jason, the Field Marshall tractor stood next to it was made only 15 miles from me at Gainsborough here in the UK. MJ

That should be pintle hitch. Back in 1951 when I went to work for the US Government they had Case tractors like that with dual rear tires for for pulling large artillery carriages to & from the firing ranges. The Korean War was on and they shipped the gun tubes to South Korea. My brother had joined the Air Force along with a lot of our classmates. I was drafted in 1953 and got married too. Retired from Aberdeen Proving Ground MD in 1994. Hal

Hal, the picture of that tractor was taken not real far from the Aberdeen proving grounds. It shows up at the Rough & Tumble in Kinzers, PA. We used to live about two miles from the Army test track in Churchville, MD. I remember they ran tanks down roads from Aberdeen until the mid 90's when the State complained about them destroying the roads. The buidings woud shake when those tanks went by. I've spoken to another veteran from MD that remembers Case tractors like this from his days in the military. I think he was working at Sparrows Point, near Baltimore.

I think that test course is still being used. When they were busy testing vehicles at APG I test drove vehicles on that course when working overtime. It had some steep hills. One of the late test director's Don Mackie lived on 136 near the test course. Hal
PS: I haven't been to Kinser's in years.
