Will I drove over to where we were going to plow ... alone with about 6 others ..

If you could get the plow in .. you couldn't get traction with the land wheel ... my La{1948} doesn't have turn breaks ... so if I spin .. I'm like a fish out of water ....

But the GOOD news is the heat houser work GREAT ... going into the wind there and I stayed warm..

We will try plowing next spring ... O-Well ..

Sounds like the ordeal was still constructive. You rigged up the heat houser and successfully tested it. You know the old saying 'Necessity Is The Mother of Invention'. Jim

It was in the upper teens here this morning in western Arkansas. finaly warmed up to about 49 -50 but the wind was still sharp even at that. Aren't you way up North from me. Surprised you even got that close to having a plow day up there. sorry it didn't work out. thats a real let down ain't it. Good luck come spring.

It was supposed to get into the 50's here in Oklahoma but I don't think it made it. A few of us from our club drove our tractors through the Pawnee Christmas parade. We had an LA, my SC, and an S....then one of those infidel brands.

Hey if you stayed warm it was a great day. I spent the afternoon here in the low 30s gathering wood with the other color tractor. With that done Ill put the Heat houser cover on it for hay feeding this winter. Have found that by closing off behind the seat with a canvas the wind is blocked from all directions and heat is trapped where you want it.

In the mid to late 70's I custom picked ear corn well into the winter months with a DC4 and later with an 830 COM, both equipped with Heat Housers. I remember being hot in front and cold in back, especially if the wind was blowing hard.

We got one in here in central IL a couple weeks ago, but that was it. Usually like to go to 4-5 each fall, but not this year. Went to one last year at about 30 degrees and breezy- everybody froze their butts off except me- had a cab on the old Gvi. No heater, but was still comfortable in there. Shouldn't have sold that tractor....
