Case 310B in need of a block.

I have a Case 310B that I am restoring. I had a knock in the
engine and when I tore it down I found a broken crank and a
bad center journal. I'm looking for a replacement block ( 148
gas ).

I've been looking localy but have not had any luck. Anyone
have a source for a 148 block.

Is the block so bad that it cannot be line bored? If you have not I would take it to an automotive machine shop and have a professional look at it. There are methods to repair worn main saddles. mEl

It's at the engine shop now. Cut the caps and line bored the block but the center journal was too worn. The next step is to sleve it but the machining costs are a bit more. If I can find a new block it might be a better option.

One option would be to have the upper saddle brazed with silicone bronze (not sure of the spelling) and line bore it. It is a low rpm engine and the load is primarily on the lower half. Dave
