Can anyone tell me what size and name brand tire was original to my 49 SC? It has 12.4x38 Gulf tires on it right now and I was told that they may be original. They are 95% tread with a fair amount of weather checking but still seem to be to good for original. Thanks KYCASE1

Thanks to all for the info. I did not think that these would be original they are in to good of shape to be 60 years old even though it has been several years sense I have seen any thing with the name Gulf on it. Thanks again KYCASE1

It probably had Goodyear, Goodrich or Firestone tires when it came from factory. And either 10 x 38 or 12 x 38 size

Originals would have been 11 X 38 or possibly 10 X 38, not 12.4 X 38. Both 11 and 12.4 are the same size but 12.4 is a later #

Talk of the Town: Trailerin a Tractor, Chains or Straps? - by Staff. Another great discussion from the Tractor Talk Discussion Forum. The discussion started out with the following post: " I bought a trailer and plan to take my CASE VAS to some shows. I don't yet have anything to secure it to the trailer. So which is better to buy and use; the ratchet-type straps or binders and binder chains?
