I have a Prestolite Distributor on our 530 case and the weights inside are worn out. Nooo one can come up with parts for it like a bushing kit or the weights. So, can i put a diffrent Distributor in this tractor? I know Delco made one for it but i cant find any exact info if the swap would work. Any ideas would help alot.... also if anyone would know where to get the parts ( weights and bushing kit ) for the Prestolite dist, i would be happy with that as well... thanks

We stock the bushing kit. A Delco Distributor # 1111908 was also used, but the Prestolite was far more common.

There is a 500b distrubutor right now on ebay, don't know if its a Prestolite (Autolite) or Delco, but it may be a good donor or replacement if it is Prestolite. A bushing kit from John Saeli in this assembly maye be what the Dr. ordered. This distributor did not sell on the first round and it has been relisted.

So if i get ahold of a distributor from a vac through 600 series gas engine. It would just drop in as an exact repalcement? I assume that the parts are interchangable between the two as well?

You got it! The drive gear might be a different material, I put a distributor out of a 350 in my VAC-14, and my books list it as an interchange for VA-600

Point of clarification, the 600 is a big 6 cylinder diesel based on the older gas 4 cylinder LA. What he means is the 600b which is the COM variant of the dry clutch 500b. Also the same distributor was used on 430/530/630 tractors (at least the early models for sure).
