I have a Case VC that have been restoring for quite a while. have noe gotten to the electrical and cannot determine if it is to be a positive or negative ground. With the price of a regulator I don"t want to make a mistake.Any help would be appreciated. Also looking for the battery cover, it must be a rare part been looking for a year.
 
The VC has a 6 volt positive ground.
Are you refering to the flip-up cover at the rear of the hood? Sheet metal for the VC is very rare and you will be very diligent to find one.
Norm Quay of "Unique Design Workshop" has made the inner battery box for me and now has them for sale. They are the same for the V series and VA series.

I think I may have one but it's 55 miles away. I'll be in that area on Oct. 25 and take a look if you're interested.

I ran onto the friend at whose place my parts tractors are stored at an auction Friday and I asked him to look. I just got an E mail from him saying that one of the battery covers looks almost perfect. I can send to to you for $35.00 and could probably go after it sometime this week.
