1957 Case 310C crawler W/ Holt model 400 winch

I got this '57 310C with a Holt model 400 winch. I don't believe Holt winches are still around. I'm not sure how this thing works. there are no control levers for the winch or brake. When the engine is running I can see the drum is turning but the winch isn't. All there is , is a 1/4 inch copper hydro line coming out toward the bottom that was cut and pinched off. Can anyone tell me what I need to do to get this winch so it works. What parts?. I'm not sure but I think it may be similar to the Carco C-12 winch. It is flush mounted right to the differential. Any help is appreciated

Don't know if it'll help, but if you Google Holt Winch Company the 2nd hit on the list should be tacomatug, which has a thumbnail history of Holt blades and winches, incl ref's to "...old Mr. Holt..."
There's also a hit somewhere on someone named Paul on ibdozing, who is (or was: didn't check the date) also looking for Holt Winch info. Good luck.
