where can I get a new set of pistons and sleeves for a 1955 401 with an A251D engine? Will 267D pistons work?
 
That is a listing for the IH 400 tractors, this is a CASE 401 diesel with the 251ci engine similar to an 800B.
 
The 400 has a narrow flange sleeve, new kits are not available. I can put a kit together if needed, but I will have to bore out a 4 inch sleeve, or you can can the block counterbores change to accecpt the new sleves specs.

Don, could I bore out my sleeves and put 267 pistons in it, or does somebody have a good or NOS sleeve? One of mine had water in it and it is a bit pitted top to bottom, but never stuck though.
 
If you want, send me your specs for the pistons
(bore, pin dia, CH, whatever dome/profile you want), and I'll quote you new ones. Same goes for the sleeves, if you can send me a drawing, can get you sleeves.

New 4 inch sleeves are available, or you can bore your used sleeves, or change the block counterbore to accept the newer wide sleeve.
