Does anyone know of a source for chevron packing
for backhoe and loader cylinders?

If you are in or close to a large metropolitan area, try checking out an industrial supply house. There are several manufactuers that make vee(chevron)packing in common stock sizes. Rabestos Manhattan and Greene Tweed are a couple of firms that do. Have you had these cylinders apart? Are you sure it needs chevron packing? I have seen some hydraulic cylinders that use T seal sets, also a Greene Tweed product.

Hercules has them. They also have kits by application if you know the OEM part number.
