Hello! I've got a 7' sickle bar mower (trailing type) with 2 small wheels on each side. I don't know what model that makes it, but the bar is 7'. It needs a new sickle, but the local NH / Ford dealership says that those are a different style than NH used. So I've called the IH place and they couldn't find the part number. Do you know what I should be asking for, and if it is a corresponding number to another brand (like Deere, IH, etc.). Growing up, I thought all sickle bars were exactly the same style, just different lengths!

Thanks for any advice!

I assume you are taling aobut the knife and not the cutter bar. Do you have the old one, if so what is wrong with it? I think I have a 7 ft. cutter bar and knife that came off a Case-Detroit mower. Don't know if it would work.

The sickle bars are all the same except for the teeth. What you need is the part that connects the bar to the pitman arm. Now that can be hard to come by as its not sold with the sickle bar.

I have a couple of Case Mower parts books and they show several different part numbers; I'm listing them below:
MT 2489 S MT 2466 S
MT 947 S
I don't know if any of these are still available through CaseIH.
