what is the diffrence between them besides the backhoe is one better than other?
what was the first model with seperate eng and trans?

Generally, the later the model of backhoe, the better. I really like my 580B because of its physical size. Its smaller size makes it easier to get into tight places, though it could use a little more power.

The first Case backhoe to have a separate engine from the transmission was the 580C. That's why there is a Cummins repower engine from that model and newer.
