Ok, so I got the old bird to turn over (thanks to this forum). But now she just won"t start. I used a multi-meter to confirm I have 12 volts at the coil but no spark from the plugs. So it"s either the coil or I need to replace points and condenser. The coil is straight forward but how do I get to the condenser? Do I need to remove the distributor entirely from the tractor or is there another way?

Thanks

Give the points a good filing, then with the ignition on open and close the points with a flat screwdriver, if it's jumping fire then Your condensor is Good.

Great! Thanks.

Any ideas on what sort of voltage I should see coming out of the coil? Each time I have measured it only gets to about 7.5 volts. Is there an easy way to test the coil or the condenser?
