What makes you think you need "french" where you are going. No one west of Quebec even speaks it. Sounds like you have a long drive ahead of you. When and where are you leaving from? Check out the western development museum in Saskatoon .If you have never seen the Canadian Rockies before , you are in for a surprise. Also if you have time take a drive down the icefield parkway between Jasper and Banft Alberta. Have a good one.

just make sure neither one of you has ever been arrested for anything eh. Had to become Canadian citizen to get in so I could get tractor I bought. They search wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy back. Lot of times if you cross at a well used crossing they seem to ask less questions. SK seems to have lots of rough roads. Alberta good roads. MB what little I was there were good.
