I need a starter for my WD 45. Does anyone know where I can get one?

If you get good compresion test and you are getting a steady miss, particularly at idle that goes away at higher speed, check for a leaky intake gasket. I usually spray penetrating oil (WD-40) around the manifold and carb with it idling. If there is a leak, it sucks in the vapour from the oil and speeds up or miss goes away for a few seconds. Ether works too, but use it sparingly.

Good luck.

Could be the spark plug wires are leaking if they are old. They don't have to be brittle or cracked. Run the engine at night in a totally closed shed/garage and look very closely at all the wires for telltale sparks to ground. Sometimes it's quite a light show.

Compression test? Maybe a valve job , or just a routine valve adjustment is in order.

Maybe it's a fuel system problem. Is the carburator dirty or need adjusting? Maybe sediment bowl needs cleaning.
