I have a D-17, serial #5500, I am told it is a series I. If anyone might have any info as to the year manufactured. Or where it was made? Please help?

Rich, Your D17 is a series 1 or the "early series" and is a 1958. The starting serial number for 1958 was 4300 and 1959 was 16500. Hope this helps. Thanks,Rick

I found a refrence at the unofficial ALLIS home page that said serial #4301 was the start of 1959 production year.

I think you misread. Serial number 4300 was the starting Serial number for 1958. My father has D17 14970 and that is a 1958 model.

You're right- I misread the starting number as a production number.

Series One, 1959. Tractor plant was in West Allis, WI.
