--wiggle ths shift lever and make sure it moves freely and not stuck in 2 gears at a time.
-- is it below freezing where you are at?? could be wter in the transmission froze? maybe drain the trans oil and look.
--jack up 1 wheel a couple inches and try to roll that tire. one on the ground is stationary, other should roll-- that checks for stuck brakes.
--then jack up other wheel and try that side.
--push brake pedal up and down, do they appear to work?

took tire off wheel would not turn.had side cover off, slid the first gear inside cover on top and the wheel spun freely.started tractor still would stall when clutch was released.getting my service manual tommorow hopefully that will help some too!

Perhaps you have a PTO problem? If your transmission is not in two gears at once, but your PTO is engaged, then a PTO problem or a hydraulic pump problem might be the next thing to investigate.
