I also buy quite a few manuals off of E-bay. One guy did try to slip me a re-print but I raised so much cane that I did get my money back. (The guy claimed he didn't know it was a re-print.)

As for getting manuals from the makers of the equipment I have not had much luck with Case-IH. Or should I say New Holland-Case-IH. I'm not sure but I think copyrights are only good for 50 years on printed material. My law dog is checking that out now. If that is the case I have some plans for the ones in my collection.

My 2 bits worth,

Old Iron

I sell copies of an original AC 3pt conversions operator's manual. I do it because I know there are a lot of people that would like the information that is in this rather rare manual and there just aren't enough originals to go around. I took the manual to Kinkos to run copies and they did a thorough check for copyrights before they agreed to make copies. It seems AC never took the time to copyright any of their manuals.....who would have thought that they would be worth something some day....

I have been a collector of Farmall tractors since 1990 when I first obtained part of the family farm in Eastern Indiana. My current collection includes a 1938 F20, 1945 H, 1946 H, and the recently purchased 1951 H. This article will focus on what I encountered and what I did to bring the 1951 NEAR DEATH Farmall H back to life. ... [Read Article]
