Two thoughts hydraulics on my Wd are slow in cold weather until it has been operated a time or two to warm up the oil. Check the side of battery box for adjustments on the hydraulic system. Having the adjustments made for the job you are doing will help to some degree and are both cylinders hooked up to the lift arms? sorry I can not tell you what adjustments to make on the hydraulics but if you could find them on the tractor or in a manual They are pretty simple to make.

Ref: WD Hyd. Pump-- There are 3 adjustments on the pump 1. top block hold position valve, this is where your hydraulic lines connect to the rams connect to, and is bolted to the top of the pump body with two 5/16 bolts. The knurled adjustment knob on the front should be turned out all the way until it hits on the end check valve plug. 2. the knurled adjustment screw for the control valves on end of pump next to the engine clutch housing is to be turned out also. 3. The knurled adjustment screw on the bottom control shaft on the bottom of pump, this should be locked into the pump body when not using the traction booster control.

Slow response to hydraulic system is most likely caused by worn or broken parts. The first place to check is after removing the hold position valve on top of the pump. You will see four 3/4 plugs these are the discharge check valves. Remove the plugs and look for broken springs. If this is not the problem you will need to remove the pump, when removing the pump it is best to remove the PTO shift lever and take it out the bottom, when reinstalling insert it from the top. If you remove the pump you will see it is a cam driven 4 plunger pump 3-11/16 and 1-5/16 is for traction boost .
check for: stuck plungers, broken return spring, rollers and pins worn.
This is caused by running low on oil.

I hope this will help you out. If you have further questions e-mail me at Ref: WD Hyd Pump--- there are 3 adjustments on the pump 1. top block hold position valve, this is where your hyd. .lines connect to the rams connect to, and is bolted to the top of the pump body with two 5/16 bolts. Sid,
In addition to Don's instructions, A TIP when removing the hydraulic pump. = When the pump is free from the housing, tip it out enough to depress the cam followers and on the pivot end insert a slightly bent nail under the pivot pin and wedge the follower in the depressed position. Then rotate the pump upside down and it will just about fall out. Reinstall the opposite proceedure. Duey--Another old retired AC Mechanic
