Most of my field tile runs show up on the surface as holes or wet spots - easily found by a tractor, implement or wagon tire.

Farmer Tom, It sounds like the outlet for your tile runs is not big enough or you have a lot of water coming at you from upstream. Water coming up out of the tile from upstream pressure, will wash out holes and a wet spot would indicate a restriction, or broken tile or not enough fall to the outlet???

Your right on all points. My bigest problem with the tile is that most of the it is old (early 1900's)and is simply falling apart and crushes. So, I just fix the bad spots as they develop. Re-tiling is just out of my budget right now, but that is the real answer to the problem. Thanks.
