Randy:Get a scotch brite pad for your electric drill. It's a big black round pad and it takes everything off fast. Ace hardware has AC Orange in quarts and spray cans (John Deere colors too). A coat of rustoleum primer will really make it last!

We had the local Ace Hardware run a match on the DuPont persian orange. It is very close to the color but affordable. They have the color code in our file there and I will be glad to contract them for it if you are interested.

Another note. Persian Orange is the color for the A-C. Most farm stores or hardware stores have it. Also Wire brushes work good to get the stuff of as well as chisels. Justin

Bob, There are three oranges. Commonly called Persian 1, Persian 2 and the corporate. The change from #1 to #2 was about 1960 with the D-15 and series 2 D-17. Since Quality Farm and Fleet went under there is no economy paint that I know of that matches the #1 color. In PPG Ditzler Delstar enamel the number for number 1 persian is DAR60080 'bout $100 a gallon where you still can get it (VOC regs). PPG's replacement in a VOC compliant paint is Omni MTK60080 but due to pigment changes it comes out about halfway between the #1 and 2 colors.

Restoration Story: 1951 Farmall H - by The Red (John Fritz). I have been a collector of Farmall tractors since 1990 when I first obtained part of the family farm in Eastern Indiana. My current collection includes a 1938 F20, 1945 H, 1946 H, and the recently purchased 1951 H. This article will focus on what I encountered and what I did to bring the 1951 NEAR DEATH Farmall H back to life.
