Steve what do you use your Wd for ? My Wd was too fast in first gear for the New Holland 269 hay baler, I had to start just raking single windrows to keep from shearing pins on baler. Slipping the hand clutch is an option for getting through tough spots while doing PTO work and it does not slow the PTO down. Those hand clutches are tough but are not for slipping all day long, and idling down is not an option for pto work. I seem to remember that some of the Wds around seemed to be a little slower than others but do not know the difference if there was any. On guy had two that they baled with. and one drove slower than the other while both balers where the same model and running the same strokes per minute the tractors were both Wds but where not the same year. So maybe there may have been a difference in the gears I do not know for sure.
