Sounds like one I bought a month ago- does it have a u-shaped bar that mounts on brackets at each final drive, held in place with a tapered wedge pin? Bar also goes across drawbar and is bolted to it?

I am guessing a bit at what you mean, but there is a U shaped bracket that holds the upper pulley which is at the end of the power shaft. The mower does mount by attaching a long U shaped bracket to either side of the drawbar assembly. This U shaped iron has mounting holes about 6" above the drawbar that the mower itself attaches to. The mower is then held in line with the tractor but can still pivot vertically to follow the ground.

Second u-shape you refer to sounds familiar. One I meant was one that goes from one final drive back to drawbar and forward to other final drive. Final drives are castings that contain step-down gears and rear axles of tractors. My mower has 6-7 foot cutter bar, but I have not checked it for model or serial number. Will get back to you.

Mower has no ID tag, 6 foot bar. Main frame is a 3" square tube. Also has swing-away feature in case the bar hits a rock, etc.

you have a #3 ac sickle bar mower. i have one and love it. i currently need to get parts for mine but after using a twin wheel pull type that was junk, i really love this mower. once i get mine going again i am going to add the hydraulic lift to it. good luck. i think you have a great mower!
