I cant give you any actual numbers but I have always found my 180 (diesel) fairly easy on fuel. I dont know anything about the MF though.

The 265 will be very conservative on fuel, is durable and easy to operate, starts well in all temperatures and has excellent hydraulics and steering, The steering cylinder needs periodic attention to eliminate the shimmy you describe, especially if the tractor has a loader on it, other than that, it's a winner. There's no way I'd trade mine for ANY gas tractor, at least not for a working tractor. (and I own 12 Allis gas tractors)
