I have a WC I am trying to rehab. It runs pretty
well with the crank. But, the wiring is a toal
mess and I have no backround and no nearby example
of how to re-wire this from A to Z. I do have the
schematic, but for a total rookie, it is not real
helpful. I need something for dummies, like "put
one end here and attach it there". Any help would
be of value

Chris,
I build wiring harnesses, but don't have anything available yet for WC. If your harness is somewhat complete, (even though it may look like a mess) if you want to send it to me, I can build you a new harness using the old one as a template. Drop me an e-mail if interested....

Chris, I'm no wiring guru, but I'm restoring a 1948 W Speed Patrol grader now (same as a WC) and I have ordered a wiring harness from Agri-Services at www.wiringharnesses.com
Their product seems a little pricey, but all of the terminals are crimped and soldered to assure a good connection and each harness is shipped with a connection sheet, which corresponds to numbered tags attached to each wire. They use original type materials including cloth covered wire and rubber terminal insulators. Maybe one of the other guys can give you more help.Good luck, Steve.
