Seein' as how you was denied access, hows about lettin some one else know where this CA is at?

I looked at one the other day, narrow front, tires about 30%, no brakes, hand clutch don't work, gear shift comes off in your hands if not carefull shifting and even if you are slips out of the socket. Sheet metal ok-paint shot. Did have a 3pt hitch. Guy was firm at $1900. It is still there in case anyone is interested.

This one is a 1954 CA, it is just west of Biglerville, Pa. That is about 10 miles from Gettysburg. I went to look, it is running but in rought shape, some body parts missing, tires about to rot away, rear rims quite rough, (calcium had been in them for years, recently removed, edges beat & bent from inexpert use of irons) smokes oil heavy on starting and continues to smoke some after the heavy part passes, so I'm thinking it needs valve work and rings. Someone painted this tractor yellow, and an ugly job of that. I did not drive it, so I don't know how the brakes are. On the good side, the previous owner had jstarted to do a litlle work on it, the lights and charging work, the electric start works, and the hydraulics appear to be in working order. Rams operated without load, some hoses were new. I originally thought that it was B front half on a CA rear half, I had only seen the CA wide front with adjustable front axle. This tractor's front half looks exactly like my '49 B except the shape of the air intake can, but after a little research thru books & the web I believe it's more likely that its all CA. After showing all the wonderful replies to my original post to my wife she caved in with a smile, but I passed on the CA for $1000, since putting it right for what I could see would cost about $1000 to $1200 (tires, rims, motor work) I'd have $2000 or more in it and it would still be that ugly yellow. The man told me he would deal on the price, but after thinking it over I decided I have too many things going right now to get into a project tractor, but this one could turn out nice for someone ready for the project. Any interested e-mail me I'll send the man's name & number.

You just made this up so Greg can show it to his wife and say "Look at what a good deal this is I have found, we have to take advantage of it honey". Right??

Nope, and the machine still sits there as I drove past it today.

And it should stay right where you left it. Too many problems for that price!
