Michael, I've been told that the factory put the LPG tank on the front and the gasoline tank in the normal place. My understanding is that it was supplied with a dual fuel Ensign carb(LPG and gasoline). Working on one now. The previous owner called the other day and had found some things that went with the tractor. I was hoping it was the orginal carb but it was the orginal vaporizer and the snap-coupler draw bar. This WD-45 had a cast iron valve cover and an Ensign carb that had been primed an olive color under the orange. On the top of the carbs mating surface to the manifold it was stamped MG1. Don't know if the stamping is Ensign's or military or what. Got some parts from Mr. Norm and he said the tractor would be worth more with the LPG tank on the front but he didn't say whether it was original or not. I missed one (WD-45)a while back with the LPG tank where the gasoline normaly is. Wife wouldn't let me try to trade on Sunday. I've got my propane man on the look out for me. Sorry for rambling, post if you find out. P.S. Sure would like to have a dual fuel Ensign carb. Dale

Today's Featured Article - Oliver 550 Purchaser Checklist - by Greg Sheppard. Pound for pound the 550 is better than anything I've seen. It has great power for its size and can really hunker down and lug. Classified as a 3-bottom plow depending on soil conditions. I personally don't think it can be beat for a utility tractor in the 40 HP range. They are extremely thrifty on fuel, at least my DSL is. Most drive train parts are fairly easy to get. Sheet metal is probably the hardest thing to ... [Read Article]
