With an alternator you don't need the original light switch and you can use any simple switch that will fit in the box...can be obtained from any auto parts or hardware store. The magneto is a self contained unit that produces spark. It has basically a small generator and the coil, points, distributor, etc. to provide spark to the cylinders at the proper time. It requires no external power source except for the rotating shaft to turn it.
