There is a spring on the left side of the tractor on the control rod by the carburetor. It was missing on my CA and the governor will not work right without it. Is it on yours???

mine was missing too but I put a spring on it last fall. it's just a small spring that connects from the rod to the linkage and i believe it's to take up slack or play in the rod because the governor doesn't move very much. Do you think that's what it's for?
