The 5040 is very similar to the Long 460 and most of the parts are the same. The same factory made one model for Oliver. I have a Long 360 (many of these are the same parts, too) bought new in 1978 and am thoroughly pleased based on the price I paid. It is not the best tractor made, but mine was delivered new for $4200 when a Massey-Ferguson 135 was selling new for about $8000. Mine has been a good value. Bucket? Front loader? The Allis tractor here would go for about $3500-4500. A used loader is about $1500-$2000. Offer $6000 if it has front loader and is in good shape as you stated. Doubtful that anyone else will offer more.
