Make sure the transmission doesn't jump out of gear....they are very expensive to fix, and good used tranny parts are hard to find because many had problems. Some people have reported spending $2000 to fix, and still having problems. Other than that, I think they would be a good tractor. From my experience following prices a D17 is a lot better tractor and goes for the same or less money. If you can get one with a good transmission and solid engine for under $2500 go for it.

Eldon, I have a 1957 D14, it has been a real work horse for me. It is original condition, I would love to restore, but use it to much, maybe next year. My D14 has no transmission problems but it does seem that many do have problems jumping out of 3rd gear under load. Check this out closely. Seems most D14s I've seen on this sight and others without transmission problems go for $2750 to $3250 give or take. Ones with problems normally have "best offer". I think that this is a very nice tractor.
