I think I know the answer but is there any way to not have the mower deck running all the time the clutch is engaged? I can lock the clutch pedal on start up but then it is running as long as the clutch is engaged. Not a real safe feeling. I have not seen any other way. Also would any one have a diagram of the belt routing?

I did a little mowing with mine today. Actually mowed pretty good even some higher grass. But deck is in really good shape. Didn't mow much because I have a front tire that thinks it doesn't have to hold air. Just had to touch up the blades. Not real fond of having it running all the time though. Need to figure out how to lock and unlock the clutch pedal from the seat. To far down for me to reach.

Rob from a different post was supposed to get his going last weekend. Would be interesting to find out how it went. The power issue has been discussed and some have no problem, some say the power is really lacking. My deck came with the mower and I have to say it is in very good shape. I have to do some things to the tractor before I try mowing. My Dad uses a Cub Lowboy which has the same engine but he has a L59 deck. It will mow normal grass in 2nd gear but not so good in high grass or up a hill. But his tractor could be geared different too.

Thanks Joe. Looking at your pics mine is like the second one. The blades were on upside down. I will email you a pic of mine as I don't know how to post pics here.

Derailing the belt is the only way to turn it off as for belt routing, this is the best picture I could find out of thousands I have. Usually the belt is off when you see one parked

I have one but haven't repaired it or mounted it yet. My question is does a G have the power to really cut anything with it?

they cut Ok with a sharp blade, good engine, low speed, and grass not too tall
