Persian Orange 1

Is anyone else having trouble getting persian orange 1? My local auto paint supply store says they can't mix it anymore because of one of tints.(PPG 60080)

I haven't bought any 60080 in years so I have no idea of its' current availability. As I recall, PPG offered three different formulations for 60080, at least at one point. There were two in the OMNI economy line - MAE 60080 in acrylic enamel and MTK 60080 in acrylic urethane. There was also an acrylic urethane formulation in the Deltron premium line - DCC 60080. If you're talking about the MAE one, I'm not surprised that it's not available since that chemistry is no longer used much in the automotive world. If you're talking about the MTK one, then I would ask your dealer specifically about the DCC one. Being a premium paint, it will be more expensive but is more heavily bodied and will cover better. The DCC formulation used completely different mixing tints.

The mix formula for DCC60080 is at the link. If your paint guy has the tints listed, he should be able to mix it for you. If so, start with the smallest quantity you can get (usually a quart) to make sure you are satisfied with the result. I'll post a shade comparison between DCC and MTK in a separate post.
