I recently tried to fix Do you push starter. I ordered a new switch and put
it on.. But when The push rod touches any part of the tractor it sparks!! I
can't seem to find any shorts But this has been spliced in the past by
someone.. Should I start over with a new wiring harness?

Did it spark before you changed the switch? If not, I expect something shifted during your installation, or tightening, of the switch and cables.

Sounds like a new switch made in the Land of almost correct and is bad from the get go

To be honest is starte sparking after I took the starter off the first time.
On the bright side, I did get it started using the hand crank without
sparks.

Since you say it started sparking after you took the starter off the first time, it is at least 99% related to something you disturbed or did. Carefully retrace your work. Uninsulated part of the battery cable terminal isn't touching the switch housing, is it? And yes, the new switch could be bad, or during tightening the contact on the stud (the battery cable hooks to) turned and is shorting inside the switch.

It appears part of the thick insulating material around on of the
terminals by the brushes peeled back. Seems I can't fix it. Will have to
source a new or used one. Thanks, for, your help guys.
