Have recently bought a G that hasn't run in 15 years or so. Engine is loose and the tractor is mostly complete, with cultivators and a belly mower. It looks like the generator has been replaced with a one wire
12 volt alternator. Looks like the coil has been replaced, and has the original distributer and starter. I have been told the 6 volt starter will be fine. My question is do you keep the positive ground and the
negative cable to the starter?? It looks like the wire from the alternator has been attached to the starter main post. That doesn't look right to me. Would like to try and turn it over with the starter, but
not sure about the wiring Thanks, M
