D-12 reverse detent

My D-12 will not stay in reverse and it's not like the normal jumping out of gear it's when you put it in reverse the shifter will just fall out of gear almost
like it has no detent in the shifter mechanism to hold it in gear, doesn't do this in any foward gears or jump out of any of them, has anybody dealt with this
problem before?

Sounds like a broken detent spring or a ball that is stuck and cannot function properly. Not a common thing for sure.
