Post hole drilling

Has some used a Post hole auger on a WD or WD45 tractor? I'd sure be interested in knowing how you hooked up the boom to the tractor A picture would be awesome.

I borrowed an auger and realized I have no place to safely how it up!!! Now I'm in the doghouse with the wife.

Regards
Dave

If your talking about the center link area of it since they didn't have 3 points I have used a chain so as to make it stay level

Dad put a post hole auger on our D17. He just used the arms; no 3rd link.
If you start the hole with the auger hanging, it just takes a little fwd movement to keep it vertical using the PD

You either need a 3 point adapter with a top link bracket, or one designed for the snap coupler system.

Dave, back in the 1950's dad bought a new digger that simply slipped over the lift arms on his new WD45. A bolt went through the holes in the end of the arms. That's the only place it hooked to the tractor. We dug hundreds of holes with that machine. Unfortunately it was stolen after dad and mom moved off the farm so I cannot post a picture of it.

I haven't tried a post hole digger on a WD yet ... but if you had a three point digger, get one of these brackets in the WD hitch section of yesterdaystractors to connect the top link to, then use bolts and straps for the lift arms.

Here's my WD 3-point conversion. Using Ferguson lower arms and a Ford top link. While I have some tractor supply Kubota vertical connectors, strap steel and bolts would work there instead. While the Kubota vertical bits show pins with spring keys, I had one pop out while disking so I converted them all to bolts with nylon lock nuts. The lower Ferguson arms have bolts through the two brackets mounted to the bottom of the tractor the regular hitch is bolted to.
