Starter switch for Autolite starter

Anybody have a source for the starter switch for an AC Model C with the Autolite starter? I have a friend in need.
Did the C ever have a Delco starter? If so, can it be swapped for the Autolite without any problems? Lots of parts for the Delco; Autolite are scarce as hens teeth....

Is this what you are looking for?

GOOGLE ''Standard Ignition SS-520''.

That looks like it might fit a Delco, but the Autolite is quite different. I'll try to get a picture from him.

The SS-520 IS for Autolite applications, of course, the one you are dealing with may be different.

I switched my B from Autolite to Delco. My Autolite used the bolt on solenoid just like Ford cars and trucks use. The Delco uses the kind of starter switch as in the picture in this thread with a long rod, circled at the end. You push it with your foot next to the left brake pedal by the ignition key control box (for lack of a better technical term). Thankfully for me, I have a B parts tractor from which I got the rod. You can still install a Delco starter without the use of the rod, you just have to manually work the lever by the switch when you stand beside the tractor. After a certain year, and I don't know which, even the Delco system upgraded to use the electric solenoid like the 'Ford style'.

Here are a couple photos of the Autolite starter from a Model C. Not sure of the serial number of the tractor. Not sure how many tractors got the Autolite starter. It is clearly different from my Delco on my CA. Maybe a guy could cut the back side out of a CA switch to make room for that hot lead but that might be a project. Any thouoghts?

Dunno why you are so dismissive about the Autolite-style generic switch I posted about?

It MAY be just what's needed for that starter.

If your Autolite starter works fine and the issue is simply getting current to that stud with the nut on it (in the picture) just buy a new generic style Ford solenoid and run a cable to the starter. These solenoids are available at all auto-part stores, I bought a couple on line for a reasonable price. The reason I switched to a Delco starter was that the bushings were badly worn in the Autolite and it was beginning to drag.

Contact Steve at B&B Custom Circuits. He is a go to guy for folks on the unofficial AC site and may have some experience with Autolite starters, like yours, on ACs.

Some pictures of your old switch to go along with the starter pictures might have been helpful to see the differences from what has been suggested for switches.

I really wasn't trying to be dismissive. It just looked like it wouldn't fit without some modifications. There was no mount for the starting switch lever like
the one in the attached photo. Also on the Autolite starter, the hot lead goes external from the switch and enters the inside of the motor pretty close to the
bendix end and feeds the field coils. That why I mentioned cutting out the back of the Delco switch so it wouldn't short to ground.
I really appreciate the help from you guys. As a newcomer to this addiction, I need all the help I can get.
The friend I was helping decided to change it over to an electric solenoid. That was pretty straightforward.
Thanks again.

The starting switch was missing from his tractor so I could not attach a photo.
Thanks for the contact.

Did you get your starter fixed and working?? I just had some good luck using a external solinoid and push button.
